Dr. Kavipriya Soma is a highly experienced General Practitioner with a strong focus on women’s health, pregnancy care, and reproductive wellbeing. With over 15 years of clinical experience, she brings extensive knowledge, compassion, and a patient-centred approach to every consultation.

Dr. Soma completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India and further advanced her qualifications in Australia with an Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She also holds a Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, qualifying her as a Sonologist, which allows her to provide comprehensive ultrasound-based assessment and care for women during different stages of their reproductive health journey.

Since 2011, Dr. Soma has been serving the Western Australian community as a GP Obstetrician at Rockingham and Bentley Hospital, supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care. Her experience across both hospital and general practice settings enables her to provide well-rounded and holistic healthcare for women and families.

Dr. Soma has a special interest in reproductive health, contraception, and fertility care. She performs a range of contraceptive procedures including IUCD/IUD insertions such as Mirena, Kyleena, and Copper Coil, as well as Implanon insertions. She is also a certified MS-2 Step prescriber, enabling her to provide medical termination of pregnancy in accordance with Australian clinical guidelines.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Soma offers specialised diagnostic and fertility-related services, including pregnancy ultrasounds and pelvic ultrasounds for accurate monitoring and assessment of women’s health. She also performs tubal patency testing (HyCoSy – Hysterosalpingo-Contrast Sonography), an advanced ultrasound procedure used in infertility evaluation to assess whether the fallopian tubes are open. As part of her fertility-supportive treatments, she also provides Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy to help improve endometrial thickness, which may benefit women undergoing fertility treatments.

Fluent in English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, Dr. Soma is able to communicate comfortably with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, helping create a supportive and understanding environment for her patients.
